Dr. Linda Tijerino (“Dr. T”) was born in Managua Nicaragua and escaped communism at the age of 13 with her family to the United States. After a brief period in California she spent her teenage years in a small town outside of Chicago Illinois where she lived in a one-bedroom apartment with her brother, sister, and parents. Her parents instilled their strong work ethic and planted deep Mid-Westerner roots that are reflected in her caring, gracious, and sincere disposition. She graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School (Urbana Champaign), and went on to complete her OBGYN residency at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, FL. She is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who has been in practice for over 22 years and enjoys learning, and helping others.
After years of practicing medicine, bringing thousands of new lives into this world, caring for her female patients health and well being, Dr. T gained invaluable experience into women’s health. However, she also became fed up with assembly-line medicine, where clinics have become little more than manufacturing plants, where the patients are often treated poorly, and was ready to move-on from the exhausting practice of Obstetrics. Because Dr. T has always valued relationships over productivity, and quality of life over the on-call demands of Obstetrics, she decided to open her independent practice in 2024.
Compassionate patient-centered, evidence-based care is Dr. T’s focus; and she serves her community with a heart of joy and gratitude. Because she does not accept any Insurance, she can practice medicine the way it was intended. This allows appointment slots to be prolonged as needed, so that problems can actually be addressed and solved, and the sacred physician-patient relationship can be restored.
Because this is a direct patient care practice, the time Dr. T would normally spend documenting, coding, and fighting with insurance companies she now spends with her patients. She has the flexibility to be to her patients more than just a physician…she is an educator, a compassionate listener, and kind friend, – and she looks forward to serving as your physician!
Dr. T’s areas of interest include general gynecology, overall women’s heath and wellness, weight loss, (BHRT) bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, menopause and anti-aging, and the optimization of health. She believes in treating patients more like family, and that it is a privilege and an honor to care for them.
Dr. T also enjoys spending time with her family, husband Matt and their daughter Victoria, her parents, siblings, and extended family. Her passions include traveling, cooking and eating great food, and gardening.
